About Me

I am a daughter, wife, mother, teacher, and most importantly a child of God. My goal in life is to follow God's plan while inspiring and encouraging others along the way. I am very blessed!! I am a veteran 3-Day walker and received such a blessing from being part of it. I would love to share my experience with you, join my team "Angels of Hope!"

Welcome to my blog!  I am not a blogger or even a writer (so please forgive the typos).  I created this blog back in 2011 for my friends and family to follow my 3-Day Journey.

My name is Amy and I am a Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walker.  In 2011, I decided to walk 60 Miles in this bold event to help raise money and awareness in celebration of my Mother being 25 years breast cancer free!  Well, my 3-Day journey has now turned into a 3 year journey. My first 3-Day walk was life changing.  I accomplished something I never dreamed I could possibly do.  I raised a little over the minimum goal to walk (over $2300) and I training to be able to walk the 60 miles.  I brought awareness to my family, school, and community.  I just felt that this was something small I could do to celebrate the life of my Mom.  I walk for so much more and you can read through my blog to find out why I continue to walk.

Here's a little more about me.  I grew up in a small town in Alabama.  Today, I live in Covington, GA with my husband and two sons.  We have lived her around 11 years.  Both my husband and I work for the local school system.  I teach elementary music and absolutely love it!  We are actively involved in our local church.  I love worshiping in song and through music.  I believe with God all things are possible.

After walking a year, I decided to get more involved with the3-Day.  I am the team captain for team Angels of Hope.  We walk the Atlanta 3-Day each year.  Because all the training walks were so far away from me I decided to become a 3-Day Training Walk Leader (TWL).  Through this I have met some amazing women!  I love to hear and share stories, powerful testimonies that encourage and inspire and that's why I am a SGK 3-Day Ambassador.

I look forward to the day we don't have to walk or raise money.  Until then every dollar, step, and blister only leads us one more step closer to finding the cure.

May God Bless each and everyone who reads my blog.  My prayer is that through this story, this journey you will be encouraged and inspired, you will be blessed and never give up hope!
